This course has been designed to introduce surgical trainees to safe surgical practice within a controlled workshop environment and it aims to 'teach, assess and certify' the ability of trainees to use safe and sound surgical techniques that are common to all forms of surgery. Led by experienced faculty you will have the opportunity to learn to use a range of surgical instruments and to handle tissue with increased confidence.
This course is aimed at:
All trainees interested in pursuing a career in surgery.
It is strongly recommended that the course be undertaken as early as possible in basic training. It is widely viewed as a cornerstone course for all trainees taking up their first surgical position.
The course has been agreed on an intercollegiate basis and trainees who complete the course will be issued with certification that will be recognised by all four Royal Surgical Colleges
