Our Story
The Plymouth Postgraduate Medical Centre (PGMC) supports all aspects of multidisciplinary medical education. The priority of the PGMC is medical education first and foremost.
PGMC is a limited company and registered charity initially funded by donations from various sources, including medical personnel and the British Antarctic Medical Unit.
Due to the unique way the centre was funded the Medical Centre building is not owned by Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. It is a registered charity. This has helped to enforce the ethos behind the development of the centre which is to provide a facility which exists for the purpose of delivering medical education teaching events and courses.
The golden rule for the centre is ‘Education is our priority’.
Our vision is to be a Beacon of Excellence in Postgraduate medical education. To be a hub of innovation and continuous improvement, collaborating with stakeholders and experts from across the UK.
